Groove Collective is a dynamic ensemble formed in 1990 in downtown New York City, known for their innovative fusion of jazz, funk, and acid jazz. Originally founded by Richard Worth (flute), DJ Smash, and rapper Nappy G, the collective expanded to include a diverse lineup with Itaal Shur (keyboards), Gengi Siraisi (drums), Jonathan Maron (bass), Bill Ware (vibraphone), Jay Rodriguez (saxophone), Josh Roseman (trombone), Fabio Morgera (trumpet), and Chris Theberge (percussion). Their music is a vibrant tapestry of nu jazz and jazz-funk, capturing the spirit and eclectic energy of New York's club scene.
