Hot Rize is a pioneering bluegrass band hailing from Colorado, known for their seamless blend of traditional bluegrass, folk, and progressive elements. Formed in 1976, the group originally featured Tim O'Brien (vocals, mandolin, fiddle), Pete Wernick (banjo, vocals), Mike Scap (guitar, vocals), and Charles Sawtelle (bass, guitar, vocals). After Scap's departure, Nick Forster joined on bass, guitar, and vocals, also serving as the band's MC. Following Sawtelle's passing, Bryan Sutton took up the guitar mantle. Known for their harmony-rich performances and innovative spirit, Hot Rize honors the roots of bluegrass while pushing its boundaries.
