About
Hour Glass was an American musical group recognized for their unique blend of blue-eyed soul, psychedelic rock, and Southern rock. Originating from the remnants of the Allman Joys, the band was formed by the legendary Duane Allman (guitar) and Gregg Allman (vocals, organ). The lineup also included future Capricorn Records producers Johnny Sandlin (drums) and Paul Hornsby (organ, piano), with Pete Carr (bass) joining for their second album. Despite limited control in the studio, the band's two albums showcased their potential and laid the groundwork for the Allman Brothers Band to follow.
