About
Inhale Exhale is a dynamic fusion of metalcore and post-hardcore, with influences from Christian rock and screamo, hailing from Canton, Ohio. Formed in 2005, the group consists of Ryland Raus (vocals), John LaRussa (guitar), Brian Pittman (bass), and Bobby Poole II (drums/vocals). The band emerged from the remnants of previous projects, with members formerly associated with Relient K and Narcissus, and quickly established a distinctive, melodic yet intense sound. Their work with producer Travis Wyrick and label Solid State Records has been pivotal in shaping their sonic landscape.
How to Sound Like Inhale Exhale
Inhale Exhale's sound is characterized by its intense, aggressive energy and melodic complexity. The guitar work often blends crunchy, distorted riffs with melodic interludes, creating a contrast that is both heavy and harmonious. This is typically achieved using high-gain amplifiers and effects like overdrive and distortion pedals to deliver a powerful, cutting tone that can shift seamlessly into more melodic passages. The bass lines are robust and punchy, driving the rhythm section with a forceful undercurrent that supports the dual vocal approach. The drumming is precise and dynamic, incorporating both rapid-fire double bass patterns and more restrained, groove-oriented sections to enhance the music's emotional impact. Overall, achieving Inhale Exhale's sound involves balancing raw power with melodic intricacy, often requiring careful attention to tone and dynamics in both live and studio settings.
