About
L.S. Dunes is a post-hardcore supergroup that emerged from the vibrant punk and alternative scenes, bringing together a powerhouse lineup of renowned musicians. The band consists of Anthony Green (vocals) from Saosin and Circa Survive, Frank Iero (guitar) of My Chemical Romance fame, Travis Stever (guitar) from Coheed and Cambria, Tim Payne (bass), and Tucker Rule (drums), both from Thursday. Their music explores a dynamic range of emotional intensity and sonic experimentation, drawing from their collective experiences to create a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly innovative.
How to Sound Like L.S. Dunes
L.S. Dunes crafts a sound that is chaotic yet melodic, blending aggressive guitar riffs with intricate, layered arrangements. Their music thrives on the contrasting interplay between raw, distorted guitar tones and soaring vocal melodies. This is often achieved through the use of guitar pedals that provide overdrive and synth-like textures, such as the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander. The band's rhythm section, anchored by Payne’s powerful bass lines through an Ampeg SVT-CL Classic, complements the dynamic shifts in their compositions. L.S. Dunes’ sonic character is both urgent and expansive, inviting musicians to explore the balance between precision and raw energy in their own soundscapes.
