Gerard Way

In this picture, Gerard is seen playing a black Fender Telecaster. He has not played it live yet but is often pictured playing this guitar at home.

Gerard tweeted this along with a picture of the guitar: "A Jazzmaster @Fender made me for my birthday. I've never seen this color- reminds me of red-meat. One of a kind."

Gerard is pictured in a guitar shop with a black Custom Shop Fender La Cabronita Borracha. He was also seen on a 2015 Periscope stream in his home discussing and demoing the guitar.

As it can be seen in the image, Mikey Way says his first bass was a Squier Jazz Bass and that his big brother (Gerard Way) got as first guitar a Squier Strat.

"Playing on a Fender Custom Shop Relic ’52 Telecaster nicknamed “Black Devil” by the either the builder or Fender. It has an Ash Body, which, in folklore, is commonly used to make wooden stakes to kill vampires with, and according to Roman writer Pliny The Elder, all evil things fear ash wood. It’s a beast."

Gerard uses a PRS Hollowbody guitar in the music video for his new song "Baby You're A Haunted House". It can be seen first at 0:09 and throughout the rest of the video.

Used to achieve the distortion on Action Cat from Hesitant Alien. Played single root notes on the E string as well as single notes on the higher strings to add layers and build the wall of sound. That broken sounding opening guitar is this pedal.

This is currently my favorite fuzz pedal, simply for the unique fuzz sound it delivers and the out-of-control Hiss feature. Doesn’t sound like any fuzz I’ve heard before and I like it so much I haven’t messed with the knobs (well I turned the volume knob up for this video) because I want to record with it exactly as it sounded when I first pulled it out of the box. I know I could mark the settings (or just simply remember that all knobs go in the middle) but I’m having too much fun with it as is. Step on the Hiss and get a laser light show and brain-glitching sounds. Brilliant pedal."
