Lifelover Members, Gear & Sound

Lifelover was a Swedish band known for their innovative blend of black metal and depressive suicidal black metal (DSBM), genres characterized by their intense emotional depth and bleak soundscapes. Formed in 2005 in Stockholm by Jonas Bergqvist and Kim Carlsson, the group quickly became a significant force in the DSBM scene. Bergqvist, who also went by the pseudonym "B", played guitar and handled much of the songwriting, while Carlsson contributed with vocals and guitar. The band's lineup also included members known by their pseudonyms: Fix (drums), 1853 (bass, keyboards), and LR (guitar), among others. Lifelover's music incorporated elements from a wide range of influences, including post-punk, goth rock, dark ambient, and doom metal, resulting in a sound that was as eclectic as it was haunting.

Lifelover's sonic character is defined by its raw, melancholic textures and atmospheric yet abrasive arrangements.
