Magazine is a pioneering English post-punk band formed in 1977 by Howard Devoto (vocals) after his departure from the Buzzcocks. The original lineup included John McGeoch (guitar), Barry Adamson (bass), Bob Dickinson (keyboards), and Martin Jackson (drums). Known for their innovative blend of new wave, art rock, and synthpop, Magazine's music is characterized by its restless energy and theatrical flair. They were one of the first bands to push the boundaries of punk, incorporating artful elements and atmospheric soundscapes into their work.
