Manal is a pioneering Argentine rock band, often celebrated as the architects of Argentine rock and the first to bring blues to the Spanish-speaking world. Formed in 1968 in Buenos Aires, the group originally consisted of Claudio Gabis (guitar), Javier Martínez (drums, vocals), and Alejandro Medina (bass, vocals). Their sound is a gritty blend of blues rock, rock en Español, and blues latinoamericano, drawing influence from the British blues explosion and artists like Cream and Jimi Hendrix. Emerging from the vibrant scene at La Cueva club, Manal quickly gained recognition for their powerful live performances and innovative approach to rock music, culminating in landmark recordings that solidified their legacy.
