Formed in 1987 by Aaarrg Records owner Ralph Hubert, who assumed the pseudonym Björn Eklund as the bassist, the band initially kept its members' identities a secret. The original lineup included Wolfgang Borgmann (vocals), Frank Fricke (guitar), Reiner Kelch (guitar), and Jörg Michael (drums) under various pseudonyms.
