About
Millionaire is a Belgian rock band known for their explosive blend of stoner rock and dynamic alternative sounds. Formed in 1999 by Tim Vanhamel (vocals, guitar, keyboard, programming), a former guitarist for bands such as Evil Superstars, dEUS, and Eagles of Death Metal, Millionaire quickly gained attention in the rock scene. The group also includes Bas Remans (bass), Dave Schroyen (drums), and Aldo Struyf (guitar, keyboard). Their music is characterized by raw energy and innovative arrangements, which has earned them a loyal following and recognition from rock icons like Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, who even produced their second album, Paradisiac.
How to Sound Like Millionaire
Millionaire's sound is marked by its gritty, aggressive edge, and a kaleidoscope of psychedelic textures. Their sonic character often balances between dirty, distorted guitar riffs and ambient, atmospheric layers. This is achieved through the use of equipment like the Pro Co RAT for raw distortion and the Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler for expansive delay effects. The Marshall JCM800 2203 amp head further contributes to their powerful, tube-driven sound, delivering a punchy and resonant output that complements Vanhamel's eclectic guitar work. Millionaire's music thrives on this fusion of chaotic intensity and precise sonic craftsmanship, making their sound both unpredictable and deeply engaging.
