Dead Man Ray is a Belgian rock band originating from Antwerp, formed in 1997. The group initially consisted of Elko Blijweert (guitar), Daan Stuyven (guitar), Rudy Trouvé (guitar), and Herman Houbrechts (drums), with Wouter Van Belle (keyboards) joining later. Known for their distinctive sound that blends elements of rock, Belgian indie, and film noir-inspired atmospherics, Dead Man Ray has been a staple of the Belgian music scene. Their debut album, Bercherm, was released in 1998, showcasing their unique style and creative flair. Over the years, the band has evolved both in lineup and in sound, with Karel De Backer taking over on drums and the group collaborating with renowned producer Steve Albini for their album Cago.
