MONO is a Tokyo-based instrumental rock band known for their evocative blend of orchestral arrangements and shoegaze-inspired guitar noise. Formed in 1999, the ensemble consists of Takaakira "Taka" Goto (guitar), Hideki "Yoda" Suematsu (guitar), Tamaki Kunishi (bass, guitar, piano), and Yasunori Takada (drums, glockenspiel, synthesizer). Their music spans genres such as post-rock, downtempo, and math rock, creating an immersive soundscape that transcends traditional rock boundaries.
