Musical Youth is a reggae and reggae-pop band originating from Birmingham, England, known for their infectious rhythms and youthful energy. Formed in the late 1970s, the group initially consisted of brothers Patrick Waite (bass) and Freddie Waite Jr. (drums), along with Kelvin Grant (guitar), Michael Grant (keyboards), and lead vocalist Dennis Seaton. Their breakthrough came with the hit single "Pass the Dutchie," which became an international sensation in 1982. Despite early success, the band faced challenges over the years but remains celebrated for their contribution to reggae music, both in their original lineup and subsequent reunions.
