How to Sound Like Press Club
Press Club's sonic character is undeniably raw and aggressive, with an emphasis on powerful guitar riffs and driving rhythms. The guitar work by Greg Rietwyk often utilizes a combination of fuzz and overdrive pedals, such as the Mojo Hand FX Colossus and the Paul Cochrane Tim Overdrive, to achieve a gritty and saturated tone. The use of a Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar through a Fender Princeton Reverb amplifier adds a classic, jangly edge to their sound, while the Strymon BigSky reverb pedal provides ambient depth without losing intensity. Drums and bass lock in with urgency and precision, creating a relentless backdrop that complements Natalie’s dynamic vocals. This combination of gritty textures and pulsating energy forms the core of Press Club’s electrifying sound.
