About
Seefeel is a pioneering English band that seamlessly blends elements of shoegaze, ambient, and experimental electronic music. Formed in London in 1992, the group originally consisted of Mark Clifford (guitar, programming), Sarah Peacock (vocals, guitar), Justin Fletcher (drums), and Darren Seymour (bass). Known for their innovative approach, Seefeel began as a conventional rock band but quickly shifted towards a more experimental sound, utilizing electronic beats and loops to craft a unique sonic identity. Their music is often associated with genres like intelligent dance music (IDM), trip hop, and post-rock, creating a bridge between the worlds of indie rock and techno.
How to Sound Like Seefeel
Seefeel’s sound is distinctly ethereal and textured, characterized by dreamy, ambient soundscapes punctuated with electronic rhythms. Their music often features layered guitar effects, with Mark Clifford's use of the Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar providing a crystalline, otherworldly texture. The incorporation of the Moog Moogerfooger MF-105 MuRF adds complex, filtered effects that contribute to their dense, immersive atmosphere. Their compositions favor drone-like bass lines and abstract, looping structures, allowing for a hypnotic listening experience that evokes both introspection and a sense of exploration. This intricate blend of organic and electronic elements defines Seefeel’s ability to craft music that is both avant-garde and deeply resonant.
