Some Girls is a relentless five-piece hardcore punk band hailing from San Diego, known for their intense blend of screamo, hardcore, noise rock, mathcore, grindcore, and sasscore. The group was formed in 2002 by Wes Eisold (vocals) and Rob Moran (guitar), alongside Sal Gallegos (drums). Later, they were joined by Justin Pearson (bass) and, after a lineup change, Chuck Rowell (guitar). Some Girls are celebrated for their brutal and innovative approach to music, crafting sounds that are both chaotic and meticulously structured, which has made them a standout in the hardcore scene.

Some Girls' sound is defined by a frenzied and aggressive sonic landscape that feels both chaotic and fiercely controlled. The music is characterized by its raw, abrasive textures and intricate rhythms, often pushing the boundaries of traditional punk with its experimental edge. Their use of distorted, high-gain guitar and bass tones creates a wall of sound, as seen with Pearson's usage of the Ampeg SVT-VR amplifier and Rickenbacker 4003 bass. The bass's growling undertones are augmented with effects like the ZVEX Fuzz Factory, adding a layer of gritty, feedback-rich fuzz that enhances their dense, sonic assault.
