About
Superheaven is an American band that hails from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, known for their gritty blend of post-grunge, shoegaze, and alternative emo. Originally formed in 2007 under the name Daylight, they rebranded as Superheaven in 2014, but maintained their signature sound. The group features Taylor Madison (vocals, guitar), Jake Clarke (vocals, guitar), Joseph Kane (bass), and Zach Robbins (drums). Their music channels the raw energy of '90s grunge, drawing inspiration from bands like Stone Temple Pilots and Soundgarden, and is characterized by heavy riffs and sludgy melodies.
How to Sound Like Superheaven
Superheaven's sound is a tapestry of thick, distorted guitar tones and crushing, bass-heavy rhythms. Their music is marked by an aggressive yet melodic edge, combining the angst of grunge with the lush, textural qualities of shoegaze. Taylor Madison's choice of the Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster contributes to their expansive sound, while a variety of fuzz pedals, such as the Way Huge Electronics Swollen Pickle MKII Jumbo Fuzz, add layers of grit and intensity. The Hiwatt Custom 100 Amplifier Head helps achieve a powerful, room-filling presence, perfectly complementing the band's dynamic and immersive sonic landscape.
