About
Swishahouse is an influential hip-hop collective that emerged from Houston, Texas, renowned for pioneering the "chopped and screwed" subgenre of Southern hip-hop. Founded in the late 1990s by Michael "5000" Watts (DJ/Producer) and OG Ron C (DJ/Producer), the group quickly became a cornerstone of the Houston rap scene. Swishahouse is perhaps best known for its association with artists such as Chamillionaire (rapper) and Paul Wall (rapper), who propelled the collective to national prominence.
