The New Basement Tapes is a unique musical collective formed to bring to life a treasure trove of Bob Dylan's long-lost lyrics from 1967. Spearheaded by legendary producer T-Bone Burnett, the group includes an eclectic mix of prominent artists: Elvis Costello (vocals, guitar), Marcus Mumford (vocals, guitar, drums) of Mumford & Sons, Jim James (vocals, guitar) of My Morning Jacket, Taylor Goldsmith (vocals, guitar) of Dawes, and Rhiannon Giddens (vocals, fiddle, banjo) of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Their music spans genres such as roots rock, indie folk, and new americana, weaving a rich tapestry of sound that pays homage to Dylan's iconic style while infusing their own artistic identities.
