About
The Panic Channel is an American post-grunge band formed by seasoned musicians from some of rock's most iconic acts. The group consists of Dave Navarro (guitar), renowned for his work with Jane's Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stephen Perkins (drums), also from Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros, Chris Chaney (bass), whose credits include Alanis Morissette and Jane's Addiction, and Steve Isaacs (vocals, guitar), known for his time with Skycycle. The band emerged from the Los Angeles music scene, blending the raw energy of grunge with melodic alternative rock elements to create their distinctive sound.
How to Sound Like The Panic Channel
The Panic Channel's sonic character is a dynamic blend of gritty guitar riffs and melodic vocals, creating a balance between aggression and accessibility. Dave Navarro's guitar work is central to their sound, often employing a dirty, overdriven tone achieved through the use of gear like the Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion. His choice of guitars, such as the PRS SE Dave Navarro Signature Electric Guitar, contributes to the band's rich, harmonic layering. The rhythm section, powered by Chaney's bass and Perkins' drums, provides a tight, driving backdrop that enhances the band's energetic vibe, making their music both powerful and compelling.
