Vertical Horizon is an American pop rock band that originated as a folk-based acoustic duo in 1991. Formed by Matt Scannell (vocals, guitar) and Keith Kane (vocals, guitar) at Georgetown University, the band expanded into a full-fledged group with the addition of Sean Hurley (bass) and Ed Toth (drums) in 1996. Vertical Horizon is best known for their post-grunge and neo mellow sound, achieving mainstream success with hits like "Everything You Want." Over the years, the band has evolved from their acoustic roots to embrace a more polished pop/rock style, making significant strides in both the American and European music scenes.
