Winter is a dream pop and nu gaze project led by Brazilian-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Samira Winter. Originally from Curitiba, Brazil, Samira relocated to Los Angeles in 2013, immersing herself in the city's vibrant DIY rock community. Winter's music, characterized by its lush, atmospheric soundscapes, draws from genres such as shoegaze, modern dream pop, and dreamo, crafting an eclectic blend that resonates with both nostalgic and contemporary influences. Alongside the rotating ensemble of musicians who join her for live performances and recordings, Winter has become a staple in the Los Angeles music scene, offering an ever-evolving kaleidoscope of sound and emotion.

Winter's sound is a captivating fusion of dreamy, reverb-laden guitar textures and ethereal vocals that create a sense of otherworldly ambiance. The Fender '60s Jazzmaster Lacquer and Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Special are frequently used to craft bright, shimmering chords and melodies that float gracefully over the mix. Samira Winter’s use of ZVEX Fat Fuzz Factory and other fuzz pedals adds a layer of gritty texture, giving the music a warm, analog feel that complements the overall atmospheric and introspective vibe.
