About
Young Black Teenagers is a hip-hop group that emerged from the vibrant New York City music scene in the early 1990s. Despite their provocative name, the group consists of five members: MCs Knowledgable Child, First Born, ATA, and Tommy Never, along with full-time DJ Skribble. While the group's name may suggest otherwise, its members are white and of Puerto Rican descent. They aimed to pay homage to the Black culture that deeply influenced them. The collective caught the attention of the renowned production team, the Bomb Squad, and became the first act signed to Hank Shocklee's Sound of Urban Listeners label. Known for their energetic performances and playful yet socially conscious lyrics, Young Black Teenagers made waves with tracks like "Tap the Bottle" and "Nobody Knows Kelli."
