How to Sound Like ZOX
ZOX's sound is characterized by its vibrant and melodic fusion, balancing the rhythmic pulse of reggae with rock's driving intensity. The violin, played by Spencer Swain, adds a unique, soaring quality to their music, reminiscent of the lively spirit of 70s prog rock. This is complemented by Eli Miller's guitar work, which shifts seamlessly between clean, reggae-infused rhythms and more distorted, rock-oriented tones. Swain's use of the Satellite Amplifiers Barracuda Amplifier contributes to this dynamic range, offering both clarity and grit. The band's rhythmic foundation is supported by John Zox's precise drumming and Dan Edinberg's bass lines, which anchor the band's eclectic sound with a steady, reggae-inspired groove.
