Audible Genius is a music education software company founded by Joe Hanley, a musician, programmer, and teacher based in the Washington, D.C. area. Frustrated by his own early struggles learning synthesis, Hanley taught himself to code and launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund Syntorial, an interactive, video-game-style training app that teaches synthesizer sound design through ear training rather than traditional instruction. Syntorial has been recognized by Electronic Musician, MusicTech, and Keyboard magazines, and has grown to serve over 30,000 students.
