Audiolab is a British hi-fi electronics brand founded in 1983 by Philip Swift and Derek Scotland, who met as students at Imperial College and set out to build high-performance audio gear at a more accessible price point. The company's debut product, the 8000A integrated amplifier, established its reputation for clean, understated engineering and became a long-running reference point in the UK hi-fi scene. Audiolab was acquired by TAG McLaren in 1997 and then transferred to the International Audio Group (IAG) in 2004, under which the brand was relaunched with new models that continued the 8000 series lineage.
