Aum Guitars is a two-person operation based in rural France, founded by instrument designer Gareth Whittock. The company specializes in unconventional stringed instruments and sustainer devices that blur the line between guitar, drone instrument, and sound design tool.

The company's namesake instrument, the Aum Guitar, features four strings alongside two longer bass drone strings, with brass fret markers but no actual frets. Instead of traditional pickups, it employs two large sensor coils with no magnets and is designed specifically to be played with an eBow, producing tones reminiscent of Eastern wind instruments. Aum Guitars also builds the Chaos Guitar, an 8-string lap-style instrument with dual piezo elements, a magnetic humbucking pickup, and a built-in feedback sustain system.

Beyond instruments, the company produces the Vibraslide and its successor the Prana Pedal — guitar sustainer systems consisting of a slide with integrated transducer circuitry and a stomp-pedal controller. Unlike an eBow, these systems can sustain all six strings simultaneously and work with the guitar's own pickups. The Vibraslide's circuitry was designed in collaboration with Paul Vo, known for designing the Moog Guitar and the Wond. The SlideSaddle is a further evolution of the concept, relocating the electronics to the outside of the slide to allow traditional slide techniques alongside infinite sustain.
