Azumi is a flute brand designed by Shuichi Tanaka, the founder and chief designer of the Japanese flute maker Altus. Based in Azumino, Japan, the line was created as a step-up offering for advancing students and aspiring professionals, applying Altus's design philosophy at a more accessible price point.

The range centers on the AZ Series — typically the AZ1, AZ2, and AZ3 — which differ in the silver content of the headjoint and body. All models share the handmade Altus Z-Cut professional headjoint, the Altus/Bennett scale, pointed key arms, and features such as open holes, a B footjoint option, a C# trill key, gizmo key, and split E mechanism. Two headjoint cuts are offered: the Z-Cut, with a rectangular embouchure hole and minimal under/over-cutting for quick response and a modern tonal color, and the S-Cut, which delivers the warmer, more traditional Altus voice with a pure tonal center.

Azumi is distributed internationally through authorized flute specialists, with separate US and European brand sites. Its instruments are commonly recommended within the classical flute community as a bridge between intermediate student flutes and fully handmade professional models.
