Custom Audio Electronics, commonly known by its initials CAE, is a guitar electronics company founded by Robert "Bob" Bradshaw in 1980. The company built its reputation designing elaborate rack-based guitar rigs and custom switching systems for professional touring and studio players — an approach that helped define the sophisticated multi-amp, multi-effect setups associated with late-1980s session and arena-rock guitar tones. Bradshaw's core architecture pairs a rack-mounted audio switcher with discrete effect loops for true bypass and a programmable foot controller for MIDI-driven recall.

The CAE catalog spans hand-built custom switchers, the RS-T MIDI foot controller, the Pedalboard Switching System (PSS), and the 3+ SE three-channel tube preamp, which was co-developed with John Suhr during his time working with Bradshaw.
