Carver is an American audio electronics brand founded by physicist and engineer Robert W. (Bob) Carver, based in the Pacific Northwest. After co-founding Phase Linear in 1969 and developing the landmark Phase Linear 400 and 700 amplifiers that became fixtures in recording studios and touring rigs, Carver launched his eponymous Carver Corporation in 1979 to produce high-fidelity amplifiers, tuners, receivers, and loudspeakers.

The brand is known for proprietary technologies including the Magnetic Field Amplifier, Sonic Holography stereo imaging, and asymmetrical charge-coupled FM detection. Bob Carver also gained notoriety in the mid-1980s for his "amplifier challenge," in which he used null-difference testing to replicate the sonic signature of expensive high-end amplifiers in more affordable units. Later work under the Sunfire name expanded the brand's catalog into high-back-EMF subwoofers and surround processors.
