Circus Freak Music is a boutique guitar effects pedal company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, co-founded by A.J. Dunning and Shannon Near. Dunning, a guitarist known for his work with The Verve Pipe, brings decades of playing experience to the company's circuit designs. Each pedal is an original analog circuit built with through-hole components and housed in a custom die-cast aluminum enclosure featuring distinctive early 20th-century sideshow poster artwork. The company notably sources NOS (New Old Stock) Soviet-era germanium transistors for select pedals, giving them a character distinct from modern silicon-based designs.

The initial pedal lineup includes the Bearded Lady Fuzztone, the Lion Tamer Compressor, the Pickled Punk Distortion, and the Tattooed Lady Overdrive. The Pickled Punk, their most widely reviewed model, targets '80s and '90s-style high-gain tones with volume, distortion, and tone controls and accepts 9–18V power. All pedals are designed, assembled, and tested in Grand Rapids and carry a lifetime warranty. The enclosures are molded from extruded die-cast aluminum containing at least 50 percent recycled material. Circus Freak has won a national Gold Addy Award for product design and packaging.
