Cooper FX was a one-person pedal company founded by Tom Majeski in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2015, named after his dog Cooper. The brand carved out a reputation for inventive, experimental effects pedals that pushed the boundaries of what guitar pedals could do. Majeski built every pedal by hand, starting with the Generation Loss VHS Simulator — a lo-fi effect that replicates the warble and degradation of worn VHS tapes — which quickly became a cult favorite among ambient and experimental guitarists.

The Cooper FX lineup grew to include the Outward (a granular delay/sampler/time-stretcher), the Moment Machine (a polyphonic pitch shifter with a 16-step sequencer), and the AARP (an 8-step pitch arpeggiator). The brand's most ambitious creation was the Arcades, a modular multi-effects console that uses swappable cartridges — reminiscent of a retro game console — to load different effect algorithms. Cooper FX also collaborated with Chase Bliss Audio on a compact version of the Generation Loss. After seven years of operation, Majeski closed Cooper FX and joined the Chase Bliss Audio design team, where his work continues to shape new pedal designs.
