D. Kowalski Amplifiers is a small, hand-built tube amplifier shop founded in 2010 by David Kowalski in McAllen, Texas. Each amplifier is wired point-to-point one at a time, with the operation supported by family rather than an assembly line. Alongside new builds, the shop also offers amp repair and rebuilding services and resells new-old-stock components.

The lineup centers on low-wattage, classic-circuit-inspired designs aimed at players who want cranked tube tone at livable volumes. The Dark Gene is a 0.5-watt micro head offered in Red and Green variants, with the Red version featuring switchable low/high gain and the Green based on a JCM800-style topology. The larger Enigma steps up to a 10-watt output stage with footswitchable overdrive and a Metro Zero Loss effects loop. The shop also takes on custom one-off builds and produces a small line of guitar pedals.
