DDA (Dearden Davies Audio) was a British professional audio manufacturer founded in 1980 by David Dearden and Gareth Davies, two engineers who had previously worked together at Soundcraft. The company built analogue mixing consoles for recording studios and live sound, and developed a reputation for high-quality audio paths and parametric EQ at a price point below the era's top-tier desks.
DDA's catalogue included the AMR and AMR24 inline recording consoles, the Q-Series live and monitor desks, the S-Series, the DMR-12, and the CS Series. The AMR in particular saw use as a tracking console in commercial studios that paired it with SSL or Neve desks for mixdown, and the Q-Series became a staple in touring and theatre rigs.
DDA was acquired by Klark Teknik in the late 1990s and the brand was eventually wound down, with its founders going on to design consoles at Midas and later co-founding Audient. DDA desks remain sought-after on the secondhand market and continue to circulate among project studios and analogue enthusiasts.
