Drake Custom Bass is a custom instrument shop based in Nevada, Iowa, founded by luthier Andrew Drake. After a decade of modifying inexpensive basses starting in 1993, Drake built his first scratch instrument in the early 2000s and began selling handmade builds in 2005, formally launching the business in 2010. The shop operates by appointment with no storefront, and each instrument is built one at a time by Drake himself, from neck carving and fretwork through electronics and hardware installation.

The shop specializes in 32- and 33-inch short-scale semi-hollow basses, but also builds solid-body, fretless, headless, and extended-range basses, plus 6-string guitars, mandolins, tenor guitars, and bajo quintos.
