The Early Music Shop is a Saltaire, West Yorkshire–based retailer specialising in instruments, sheet music, and accessories for the early music repertoire — covering medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. It was founded in 1968 by Richard Wood as an offshoot of his family's long-established Bradford music business, J Wood & Sons. The venture grew out of the early music revival of the late 1960s and early 1970s, with recorder virtuoso David Munrow encouraging Wood to launch a shop dedicated to historical instruments and helping suggest the name.

The shop's range spans recorders, crumhorns, viols, lutes, harpsichords, virginals, baroque flutes and oboes, sackbuts, cornetts, and percussion, alongside instrument kits, reproductions, and printed music. It carries makers such as Moeck, Mollenhauer, Küng, Yamaha, and Aulos for recorders, and stocks a wide selection of historical strings, keyboards, and woodwind. The main showroom is located in Salts Mill in Saltaire, with a second presence at Snape Maltings in Suffolk.

The business is widely considered one of the largest dedicated suppliers of early instruments in the world, serving professional players, ensembles, schools, and amateur enthusiasts. Alongside retail, it offers instrument repair, keyboard hire, and tuition resources, and has historically built and reconditioned instruments in its own workshops.
