Egmond is a Dutch guitar maker founded in the 1930s by Uilke Egmond, a former railway station-master who opened a music school and shop in Valkenswaard before relocating to Eindhoven and later Best. With his sons Gerard, Dick and Jaap, Egmond shifted from importing instruments to building mandolins, banjos, classical guitars, and later electric and acoustic models. At its peak the Best factory employed around 150 workers and produced roughly 200,000 instruments a year, making Egmond one of the largest guitar manufacturers in Europe during the 1950s and 1960s.

The company's catalog ran to nearly 250 models across acoustic, archtop, electric, and bass guitars, with names like Typhoon, Tempest, and Thunder, as well as sub-brands such as Alberti and Alex. Between 1975 and 1977 the Best factory also produced Vega-branded acoustics for C.F. Martin. Egmonds were widely sold as affordable student and beginner instruments across Europe and the UK, and many well-known players are reported to have started out on one, including Brian May, George Harrison, and John Lennon.

The Egmond name has been revived and the brand offers a lineup that includes electric, acoustic, and electro-acoustic guitars along with basses and ukuleles, positioned as accessible instruments for players at various levels.
