Emmanuel Stone is an independent luthier based near Miltown Malbay in County Clare, Ireland, building handcrafted steel-string acoustic guitars, classical guitars, and ukuleles one at a time using hand tools and traditional methods. Stone trained in lutherie under Geza Burghardt in Vancouver, Canada before establishing his workshop in the west of Ireland.

His instruments are built in the style of Hermann Hauser and pre-war Martin guitars alongside his own modern designs rooted in those traditions. Stone favors finely selected tonewoods, handmade rosettes, and a french polish finish, which he prefers over modern spray finishes for its thinness and minimal effect on the wood's acoustic response.

His best-known build is a small-body acoustic commissioned by Conor O'Brien of the Irish band Villagers — nicknamed "Laurel" — designed to be compact yet full-voiced enough for both studio and touring use.
