Felipe Conde is a Madrid-based luthier specializing in handcrafted Spanish classical and flamenco guitars. The workshop traces its lineage to 1915, when Domingo Esteso opened his shop and trained his nephews — including the Conde brothers — in the craft, establishing the Esteso–Conde guitar-making tradition. Felipe Conde Cavia, born in Madrid in 1957, represents the third generation of this family lineage and operates a workshop on Arrieta Street near the Royal Theatre, where guitars are built and customers are invited to test instruments in person.
The shop's output centers on two categories: classical guitars and flamenco guitars, built one at a time using traditional Spanish methods and tonewoods. Conde guitars have been associated with prominent flamenco players including Paco de Lucía, Sabicas, Niño Ricardo, Tomatito, and Paco Cepero, and have also been played by artists outside the flamenco world such as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Al Di Meola.
