George Steck & Co. is an American piano brand founded in New York City in 1857 by George Steck, a German-born piano maker who trained under Carl Scheel, a former employee of the French builder Sébastien Érard. After an early partnership as Steck & Grupe, the firm was renamed George Steck & Company around 1860 and grew into a substantial Manhattan operation producing several hundred upright and grand pianos per year. The instruments developed a reputation for a powerful yet clear tone and drew public praise from composers including Richard Wagner, who selected Steck pianos for use at the Bayreuth Festival.

The company was acquired by the Aeolian Company in 1904 and continued as one of Aeolian's premium labels through much of the 20th century, including a period producing player pianos and reproducing instruments. Following Aeolian's collapse in 1985, the Steck name passed through Sohmer & Co. and later through other owners, with production eventually shifting overseas. Under more recent stewardship, Steck-branded uprights and grand pianos have been built by Nanjing Moutrie Piano Company in China and distributed in North America by Welkin Sound Inc., marketed as an entry- and mid-tier piano line carrying the historical Steck name.
