Granelli Audio Labs is a Baltimore, Maryland-based microphone modification company founded in 2009 by recording engineers John Grant of Secret Sound Studio and Tony Correlli of The Deep End Studio. The company grew out of a late-night studio experiment in which the two engineers fashioned a PVC plumbing-elbow adapter to angle a Shure SM57 by 90 degrees, making it easier to position around crowded drum kits. After repeated interest from visiting drummers and engineers, the prototype was refined into a production microphone.

The company's signature and best-known product is the G5790, a genuine new-production Shure SM57 with a custom-machined aluminum right-angle housing inserted between the capsule and the transformer handle. The internal sound path is acoustically engineered to preserve the SM57's familiar tone and durability while letting engineers tuck the mic into tight spots — between toms and cymbals, behind grilles on guitar cabinets, or on percussion and stage sources where a straight-bodied SM57 would protrude awkwardly. The G5790 is sold through pro audio retailers including Sweetwater, Vintage King, and Front End Audio.

Granelli Audio Labs operates as a small specialty workshop rather than a full-line microphone manufacturer, and its catalog has remained focused on the right-angle SM57 modification. The mic has found a niche among studio engineers and live sound techs looking for a drop-in solution that keeps the sonic character of an industry-standard dynamic while solving placement problems, and it has been spotted in use at facilities such as Rain City Recorders.
