Greenfield Guitars is a boutique lutherie workshop in Montréal, Quebec, founded by Michael Greenfield. Greenfield began his career in the 1970s tuning, repairing, and restoring vintage and antique instruments, and transitioned to building full-time in the late 1990s. With over five decades of study in the mechanics, dynamics, and physics of the acoustic guitar, he has handcrafted some 400 instruments, producing fourteen to sixteen fully bespoke guitars per year from his Montréal shop.

Greenfield builds steel-string, nylon-string concert classical, and archtop acoustic guitars, with steel-string platforms including the G1, G2, and G4. Each instrument is assembled with hide glue and features a radially braced back plate with Greenfield's proprietary Tone Halo design, which distributes vibrational energy across the entire back surface. Notable innovations include the Palm-A-Way™, an alternative to a traditional cutaway that softens the neck-body joint for easier upper-register access, and fanned-fret fingerboard options for improved intonation across alternate tunings. A long-running collaboration with fingerstyle guitarist Andy McKee has produced technically ambitious instruments including a dedicated harp guitar design.
