Highland Dynamics is a Los Angeles–based boutique pro audio manufacturer founded by Bryce Gonzales, who began his career running a gear shop and tech bench at The Hangar studio in Sacramento before relocating to LA and working alongside producers including Thom Monahan and Jonathan Wilson at Five Star Studios. Earlier work building the AR-1 compressor for Lisson Grove informed the company's own line of hand-wired tube outboard, which it has produced since the mid-2010s.

The brand is best known for its vari-mu tube compressors, particularly the BG2, an all-tube, fully transformer-balanced mono compressor with a front end inspired by a British-modified Altec 436 paired with a twin 6V6 output stage in the style of an RCA BA6A or Gates broadcast limiter. The lineup also includes the BG1 Stereo "Re-Issue," the BG3, the Delta 4-7 Plus dual mic preamp, and the K-47 compressor, alongside custom-built Pultec-style EQs and guitar amplifiers.
