Hurricane was a guitar and bass brand produced by Moridaira Musical Instrument Co. of Japan during the 1980s, the same company behind the Morris acoustic guitar line. Instruments were typically badged either "Hurricane by Morris" or "Hurricane Moridaira," reflecting the parent company's house naming conventions, and most examples were built in Japan (with some later production attributed to Korea).

The catalog leaned heavily on superstrats and copies of classic American silhouettes, including Stratocaster-style, Telecaster-style, Les Paul-style, and Explorer-shaped models, alongside the EX and Equinox series. Hurricane became closely associated with the late-1980s Shrapnel Records shred scene after Mike Varney arranged an endorsement for Marty Friedman and Jason Becker around the time of Cacophony's Speed Metal Symphony; Becker is famously pictured with a blue Hurricane on the cover of his solo album Perpetual Burn.
