Jamo is a Danish loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1968 in Glyngøre, Denmark by cabinet maker Preben Jacobsen and salesman Julius Mortensen, with the brand name formed from the first two letters of each founder's surname. The company grew rapidly through the 1970s and 1980s, producing its millionth loudspeaker by 1978 and eventually becoming one of Europe's largest loudspeaker manufacturers, operating out of a sizable factory complex and earning an ISO 9001 certification in 1991. In 1994, Jamo became the first EMEA company to produce a THX-certified speaker.

The brand's catalog spans bookshelf and floorstanding speakers, home theater systems, subwoofers, and custom installation products. Notable models include the Concert series, the S 800 and S 800 series, the high-end R 909 floorstander (named best high-end speaker of the year in Europe in 2008), and the retro-styled Studio 8 line.
