JBE Pickups, formally known as Joe Barden Engineering, is an American pickup manufacturer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The company traces its origins to a collaboration between designer Joe Barden and guitarist Danny Gatton, who sought a pickup that could deliver superior tone and noise-free performance beyond what mass-produced options offered. The resulting Danny Gatton T-style pickup set remains the company's flagship product. The original Joe Barden Pickups (JBP) ceased operations in 2004, and Joe Barden Engineering (JBE) was subsequently formed as a separate entity, continuing to build pickups using the same designs, materials, and hand-made techniques.
