Kapa was an American guitar manufacturer based in Maryland, founded in 1963 by Dutch immigrant Koob Veneman, who ran Veneman's Music Emporium in Silver Spring. The brand name was an acronym formed from the first letters of family members' names: Koob, his son Albert, his daughter Patricia, and his wife Adeline. Production began in the back of the family's music store before moving to a larger facility in Edmonston, Maryland, where output reportedly reached around 500 instruments per week at its peak.

The lineup leaned on familiar 1960s body shapes inspired by Fender, Gibson, and Vox, paired with imported components — necks, pickups, and electronics sourced from makers such as Eko in Italy, Höfner in Germany, Vox in England, and Teisco in Japan. Notable models include the Continental, the Series 500 thinline, the Challenger, and the teardrop-shaped Minstrel, the latter a clear nod to the Vox Mark series silhouette popularized during the British Invasion.
