KMD, short for Kaman Musical Devices, was a product line introduced in the 1980s by Charles "Chuck" Kaman, the aerospace executive and Ovation Guitars founder whose Kaman Music Corporation (KMC) had grown into a major U.S. instrument distributor. The KMD label put Kaman's name on a range of affordable guitar effect pedals and accessories sold through the company's wholesale network alongside its Ovation, Adamas, Applause, and later Hamer guitar lines.

The pedal lineup is the part of the brand most remembered today, covering distortion, overdrive, analog delay, phaser, flanger, and stereo chorus units, often with extra tone controls and bright cosmetic finishes that set them apart from contemporaries. Their origins are something of a collector mystery: the units share visual cues with Boss compact pedals, which fueled long-running speculation that Roland built them as OEM, but circuit analysis points to a different, unidentified contract manufacturer working to Kaman's spec. KMD also produced a line of microphone, speaker, instrument, and keyboard stands that turn up regularly on the used market.

The pedal series was discontinued and units now circulate primarily through the secondhand market on sites like Reverb and eBay, where they have a small but loyal following among players seeking inexpensive vintage analog circuits. The KMD name has continued to appear on stands and stage accessories distributed through Kaman's successor channels.
