Life is Unfair Audio Devices is a hand-built effects pedal and eurorack module builder based in Cardiff, Wales. The company is a one-person operation run by Grindle, who hand-solders, polishes, and screen-prints each enclosure from a home workshop. Grindle began building pedals during a university summer break after being asked to assemble an overdrive kit, and eventually launched the brand after completing a final project on modified fuzz circuits.

The lineup leans toward unusual, modular-synth-influenced designs alongside vintage-flavored fuzz. Pedals include the Dream Left Behind, a single-knob Big Muff-style fuzz with a fixed gain and no tone stack; the Pale Spectre, a combined tremolo, clean boost, and heterodyne modulator; the Synaptic Cleft, a semi-modular tremolo offering sixteen selectable waveforms and expression-pedal control; and the Pineal Gland. The brand has also produced limited collaborations, including the Violet Oscillation shoegaze fuzz made with YouTube channel Pedal Partners and the Bad Machine fuzz/boost/overdrive designed with UK band Boston Manor.

Life is Unfair has worked alongside other independent builders and labels such as Triungulo Lab, Holy Island Audio, Teaching Machines, and Dubreq, and was involved in Devi Ever: Cymru, a project licensing circuits from Devi Ever: FX. Grindle has described the ethos as tool-focused rather than brand-focused, aimed at providing useful and unconventional sonic options for guitarists and experimental musicians.
